Premiership Football 2008/2009

This page is gonna be completely awesome (hopefully) if you follow premiership football, it will be updated with team profiles aswell as the top premiership stories and the latest results.

BREAKING PREMIERSHIP NEWS: Manchester City today have been named the richest club in the world after Thaksin Shinawatra has agreed a deal with an Arab group which have paid 150 million for the club. It has also been reported that Dimitar Berbatov has been holding talks with Man City after they put in a bid for 30 million for the Bulgarian hitman when all summer it seemed as if their rivals Man United could snap him up. Mario Gomez and David Villa have also been linked for the move to City. If the money is spent wisely this season Man City could be completely unstoppable.

BREAKING PREMIERSHIP NEWS: Man City are going from strength to strength at the moment as they beat Chelsea to sign Real Madrid's Robinho for a record 32.5 million. Personally I think this is fantastic news for them and they could be pushing for the top 5 this season.

Game Of The Week - West Ham United 4 - 1 Blackburn

This game was expected to be a tough game for both teams with West Ham making a good start to the season and Paul Ince's Blackburn side wanting to get their season on track because as you may know, they really haven't had the best start. It got even worse for Blackburn when Davenport got West Ham's first goal in only twelve minutes and it was only eight minutes after that when things got even worse for them as Christopher Samba scored an own goal to put the home side 2-0 up. Only a couple of minutes later Jason Roberts scored for Blackburn to give them a little hope as they entered the second half of the first half! This was the score at half time. Blackburn were dominating in the second half but this was a fairly uneventful second half and it turned increasingly nerve racking for the West Ham team as they learned they had to sit through another five minutes of play in the form of injury time. However in the third and fifth minutes of injury time, Bellamy and Cole scored against the run of the play to give Alan Curbishley's side the win.
